Day 01: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Quiswarniyoc

We will begin with a pickup from your hotel at 4:30 am and transfer to the town of Mollepata, arriving at 8:30 am. Here, we will stop for breakfast and introduce our entire team who will accompany us throughout the trek, followed by a briefing with our guide.

Next, we will hike for approximately 3 hours, appreciating a great diversity of flora and fauna. Afterwards, we will arrive at Cruzpata, where we will take a short rest. Then, we will continue to Soraypampa (first campsite) to enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we will ascend for 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach Humantay Lake (4,220 masl), where we will admire the beautiful glacier and lagoon. After this visit, we will descend to Soraypampa for dinner and rest under the starry sky typical of our Andean and Cusco highlands.

Day 02: Quiswarniyoc – Salkantay Pass – Chaullay

We will cross the Salkantay Pass at 4,650 masl, admiring the Andes mountain range and the sacred Apu Salkantay mountain. Along the way, we will observe indigenous housing structures, crops, and livestock such as llamas and alpacas. Then, we will begin our descent to the first village where we will enjoy lunch (location chosen based on our pace).

Afterwards, we will continue our journey to the village of Chaullay, a tropical zone with unique biodiversity of flora and fauna. This will be our final campsite for the night.

Day 03: Chaullay – Sahuayaco Beach – Hidroeléctrica – Aguas Calientes

We wake up around 6:00 am for a delicious breakfast and start hiking around 7:00 am toward Sahuayaco Beach along the Santa Teresa Valley, formed by the Salkantay River. Here, we will have the opportunity to see plantations of coffee, bananas, avocados, coca, passion fruit, and more.

After hiking for about 5 hours, we reach La Playa. From here, we will take a vehicle to the town of Santa Teresa (approximately 45 minutes). Upon arrival, we will stop for lunch and then continue by vehicle for another 45 minutes to Hidroeléctrica. Finally, we will walk along the train tracks for about 2 hours to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in a comfortable hotel.

Day 04: Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco

Early in the morning, we will have breakfast and then hike for approximately 2 hours to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Here, we will take a guided tour lasting about 2 hours to explore the “Lost City of the Incas,” including the Main Plaza, Circular Tower, Sacred Sun Dial “Intiwatana,” Royal Quarter, Temple of the Three Windows, and various cemeteries.

At the end of the Salkantay Trek 4 Days / 3 Nights, we will descend to Aguas Calientes to take the train to Ollantaytambo. From there, we will take transportation back to the city of Cusco, where you will spend the night in a hotel.
